LARIX 2.6

LARIX_2.6 (four trees and live electronics)

“Un albero è vivo come un popolo più che come un individuo, abbatterlo dovrebbe essere compitolo solo del fulmine” E. De Luca

LARIX_2.6 was created for the Lumine Arbor Sonus project and is dedicated to the Larici trees that were cut down on 21 February 2024 in Cortina d'Ampezzo to make way for the new bobsleigh track, which will be used in the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina. The idea of this piece is to show the difference between humans and nature. This is done by using sounds from nature, played by four percussionists who hit trees to make music, and sounds made by machines that show how humans can be cold and distant when making choices based on what they want.

This song is a symbol of hope and resistance. It shows that nature will always win against humans, even if that doesn't happen right away.
