The show, created especially for this event, tells the story of a group of people who, because they are poor and therefore excluded from society, are forced to live in a basement with very little space for each person. The actors and actresses worked on short monologues that mixed their own feelings with those of Gorky's characters. So, the "private" stories of these characters will be put on stage. This means what is not written in the text, the short circuit created by the encounter between the person and the character. This is part of a work of collective dramaturgy. Dramaturgy is about writing and music. This was the final spark. The show is made even better by the original music of Paolo Ceccarelli, Ewma Grace and Michele Fondacci, which was inspired by the monologues and created specially for each character. The idea behind creating the texts, working with the actresses and actors, and composing the music is summed up by the line spoken by Michail Ivanov Kostylev – one of the characters in the show. He says this during his monologue: We want to show you the truth! The truth about the slums, the truth that lies hidden in misfortune. If you have never seen a person hungry, angry, afraid, sick or suffering, then you have never really seen them."
